Comments & complaints

Comments and complaints about how we have done our work can help us achieve higher standards

We have a formal process for considering complaints about how we have done our work.

If you want to make a formal complaint you will find it useful to first look at our external complaints policy.

If you are dissatisfied with our response once you have gone through our formal complaints process, you can ask your MP to request a review by the Parliamentary & Health Service Ombudsman.

Once we have published final recommendations on electoral reviews our involvement in the review is finished. There is no internal appeals process against our decisions given Parliament’s role in deciding whether or not to approve our final recommendations.

An MP may raise an objection to the recommendations. If an objection is raised Parliament can only be accept or reject the recommendations as a whole. They cannot be amended.

Like other public bodies our decisions may be challenged through judicial review.
