Bromley
From July 2018, the Commission is beginning a three-year programme of electoral reviews of London Boroughs, that it has not reviewed in the last 5 years.
An electoral review recommends new ward boundaries that mean each councillor will represent approximately the same number of voters. We also aim to ensure that the pattern of wards reflect the interests and identities of local communities as well as promoting effective local government.
All London boroughs, except Southwark Council, Tower Hamlets Council, the London Borough of Bexley, Croydon Council, Redbridge Council, Hackney Council, the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, and the City of London, will be reviewed by 2020.
For more information, please see this link.
It is Commission policy not to open public consultations in the weeks leading up to elections. Given that Parliament has confirmed a General Election will take place on 12 December 2019, our draft recommendations consultation period has been extended. An updated timetable for our review of Bromley can be found above.

As part of the initial stages of the review, we consulted with Bromley Council on the most appropriate number of councillors to be elected to the council in future.
We received 5 submissions on council size:
- Bromley Council
- Bromley Conservative Group
- Bromley Labour Group
- Bromley Independent Group
- Local Resident
The Commission is minded to recommend that 58 councillors should serve Bromley Council in the future. This is 2 fewer than the current number of councillors.
This review was carried out by the Local Government Commission for England (LGCE), beginning on 5 January 1999.
