The Boundary Committee for England began a further electoral review (FER) of West Wiltshire on 12 July 2005. For more information see the press release.
During the six weeks following the publication of the Committee's final recommendations for West Wiltshire, the Electoral Commission received the following representations:
On 11 January 2007 the Electoral Commission decided to accept the recommendations of the Boundary Committee for England with the following modification:
- the proposed Holt and Hilperton district ward will instead be named Avonside.
On 8 February 2007 the electoral change Order to implement the Commission's decision was made to establish the new district and parish wards, some by reference to the Order map. Web and print versions of the Order are published by the Office of Public Sector Information. The map referred to in the Order comprises Sheet 1, Sheet 2, Sheet 3, Sheet 4, Sheet 5 and Sheet 6.
