Review Body

Electoral Review: Information Zone

We want to hear the views of local people and organisations for a new pattern of wards in Wigan. The deadline is 7 February 2022.

You can view an interactive map of how our proposals have changed from the original wards and our draft recommendations on our consultation portal.

Our independent electoral reviews recommend new patterns of wards so that each councillor represents about the same number of electors. We also aim to ensure that the pattern of wards reflect community ties and identities and promotes effective local government.

Reviews involve several consultations where we ask local people and organisations to get involved. We actively encourage this because we believe local input helps us deliver the best electoral arrangements. You can tell others about the review by using the ‘share’ buttons on the top right of this page.
