The Commission is carrying out an electoral review of North Kesteven District Council.
The aim of the electoral review is to recommend ward boundaries that mean each councillor represents approximately the same number of voters.
We also aim to ensure that the ward boundaries reflect the interests and identities of local communities, as well as promoting effective local government.
To achieve these aims, we need to re-draw ward boundaries across North Kesteven. You can find out more about the review below.

On 11 January 2021, we published final recommendations for future electoral arrangements in North Kesteven District Council.
We have now completed our electoral review of North Kesteven.

As a result of our final recommendations on new warding patterns, we are making changes to the parish electoral arrangements for the following parish and town councils:

The changes we have proposed must now be approved by Parliament.
A draft Order - the legal document which brings into force our recommendations - will now be laid before Parliament.
The draft Order will provide for the new electoral arrangements for North Kesteven District Council to come into effect at the local elections in 2023.

As part of the initial stages of the review, we consulted with North Kesteven District Council on the most appropriate number of councillors to be elected to the council in future.
We received 1 submission on council size:
The Commission is minded to recommend that 43 councillors should serve North Kesteven District Council in the future. This is no change from the current number of councillors.
The Boundary Committee for England began a Further Electoral Review (FER) of North Kesteven on 2 June 2004.
During the six weeks following the publication of the Boundary Committee's final recommendations for North Kesteven, the Electoral Commission received the following representations:
Sleaford & North Hykeham Liberal Democrats
On 27 April 2006 the Electoral Commission decided to accept the recommendations of the Boundary Committee for England without modification.
On 25 May 2006 the Commission made the District of North Kesteven (Electoral Changes) Order 2006 to implement their decision. Web and print versions of the Order are available at the Office of Public Sector Information's website. The Order describes the new district wards in its Schedule and refers to a map, comprising Sheet 1 and Sheet 2, of the new parish wards. Mapping of the new district wards will be available on Ordnance Survey's election maps website just before the elections in May 2007 that will bring the new wards into force.
