Northumberland & Gateshead PABR
Draft Recomendations
From 24 January 2012 - 6 March 2012 the independent Local Government Boundary Commission for England (LGBCE) is consulting local residents on plans to re-draw a council boundary in the area around Ravenside Bungalow.
Read our PABR report on Northumberland & Gateshead (PDF)
A map of the area is available on page five of the above report.
At present, the existing boundary locates Ravenside Bungalow on the side of Gateshead Council. However, the property is registered with Northumberland County Council, to which it also pays council tax, and is separated from its only neighbours on Ravenside Farm by the existing administrative boundary. Furthermore, Ravenside Bungalow is only accessible from the Northumberland side of the boundary, which means that that it is not possible for residents to access the remainder of the borough of Gateshead without first going through Northumberland County Council area.
The draft recommendations are that the administrative council boundary is changed so that Ravenside Bungalow is transferred from the borough of Gateshead into the county of Northumberland.
