What are web feeds or RSS?
Web feeds allow you to see when websites have added new content. You can get the latest news in one place, as soon as it is published, without having to visit the websites you have taken the feed from.
Feeds are also known as RSS which means 'Really Simple Syndication'. In essence, the feeds themselves are just web pages, designed to be read by computers rather than people.
How do I use the LGBCE's feeds?
This is very easy. Click on the feed you want to subscribe to (listed above or anywhere on the site) and you will have to chose what reader you want to use to receive your feed.
At the right hand side of the screen you will see some options (as shown in the example above).
The feed you chose can be a browser-based reader which means you can see your feed subscriptions from any computer, whereas downloadable applications let you store them on your main computer, in the same way that you either download your e-mail using Outlook, or keep it on a web-based service like Hotmail.
